Which course should I choose?
Choose A1 if you are a complete beginner, A2 if you know the basics, and B1 if you can already have simple conversations. See Which course is right for me? on the Our courses page.
What is a credit?
One credit = one AI correction. Each time you send an answer and get your correction, one credit is used. With a free account, you get 20 credits after you verify your email. No credit card needed.
Do I need a microphone?
Only for speaking exercises. The microphone on your phone or computer is enough. When your browser asks, click "Allow" to use the microphone.
How do I do a speaking exercise?
Find a quiet place with no noise around you.
1. Click the microphone to start speaking. Wait one second, then say the sentence in English.
2. When you have finished speaking, click the microphone again to stop.
3. Not happy with your recording? Click the microphone to delete it and record again.
4. Click "Check my pronunciation" to get your correction.
Recording stops automatically after 10 seconds.
What is intonation?
Intonation is the music of your voice: the way it goes up and down when you speak. Good intonation helps you sound natural and be understood more easily.
How can I improve my intonation?
Listen to native speakers and copy the way they speak. After each speaking exercise, the AI gives you an intonation score and tips to improve.
How does SpeakEnglishPro help me with pronunciation?
In speaking exercises, you say the sentence in English. The AI scores your translation, your pronunciation and your intonation, and explains your mistakes in your native language.
How does SpeakEnglishPro help me understand spoken English?
In listening exercises, you hear a native voice and write exactly what you hear. You can listen at normal speed or slow speed. The AI corrects your spelling and grammar.
What is the comprehension exercise for?
You see and hear an English sentence, then write it in your native language. This shows that you really understand the meaning, not only the words.
What do the numbers in the green bar mean?
🔥 The number of days in a row you practiced. If you do no exercise for 3 days, it goes back to zero.
✅ The number of exercises you have completed.
⚡ The number of credits you have left.
How do I unlock the next lesson?
Each lesson has 10 sentences, and each sentence is scored out of 10. Get at least 60/100 to unlock the next lesson. You can try as many times as you want.
Can I redo an exercise?
Yes, as many times as you want. We keep your best score. Each correction uses one credit.
What happens if I see an error message?
Don't worry: no credit is used if you don't get a correction. Just try again. For speaking exercises, make sure you are in a quiet place.
Do unused credits carry over?
No. Every 30 days, your credits go back to the amount of your plan. Credits you did not use do not carry over to the next period.
What happens when I have no credits left?
You cannot get new corrections until you have credits again. Your progress is saved. The 20 free credits are given only once. With a paid plan, your credits come back every 30 days.
How do I subscribe if I don't have an account yet?
1. Choose your plan on the Pricing page.
2. Log in or create an account on Patreon, then pay.
3. You will receive an email from SpeakEnglishPro. Click the link in this email.
4. Complete your profile and create your password.
I already have a free account. How do I get a paid plan?
Subscribe on Patreon with the same email as your SpeakEnglishPro account. Your credits will be added to your account, and you keep all your progress. If you use a different email, a new account will be created.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You can cancel your subscription on Patreon at any time. You keep your access and your credits until the end of the period you paid for.
In which language are the corrections?
In your native language, the one you choose when you create your account. All explanations and tips are written in that language.
